Private Game Viewing at Sekala Safari Lodge
 |
The only way you'll get closer to Sekala's magnificent creatures than a game drive in a luxurious open vehicle with special seating to ensure every person has a perfect view is going on a walk with a professional, armed, game ranger. The game ranger's intimate knowledge of ecosystems - and there are many, as the Waterberg is a region of mountains and massive rock formations, ravines, valleys and vast grassy plains - makes every outing an exciting discovery. |
|
Ecosystems, Fauna and Flora in the Welgevonden Reserve
| The Lush Vegetation of the Welgevonden Reserve is sustained by four prennial streams - the Sterkstroom, Grootfonteinspruit, Taaibosspruit and Platbosspruit - and abounds with 350 bird species and vast numbers of game, including Africa's famous "Big-Five" - lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo. If you're lucky you may even get to see all five - as close as you want to go. Follow a lion hunt by spotlight during an exciting night game drive, or simply witness the vast diversification of 25 mammal species. |

State-of-the-art Bush Experience at Sekala
| Although the Waterberg was inhabited by early trekkers because of its bounteous supply of water, the Welgevonden Reserve has remained untouched for the past eighty years.
It was here in the peace and tranquility of the Waterberg that Eugene Marais wrote his famous work "the Soul Of The Ant"
Imagine the greatness you can achieve at executive think tanks, conferences or team building excercises when you add Sekala's state-of-the-art equipment to Welgevonden's tranquil bush surroundings. |
